This application illustrates fractional addition. In the following problems you will be adding together fractional amounts of gallons of paint for a living room, dining room, and hallway. By adding together the fractional amounts needed to paint each room you can find the total amount needed for the project in each question below.
First, click on the "play" button. Then enter the amount of paint required for each room. This application only supports fractions, so if you have a mixed number, you must first change it to an improper fraction before you enter the values for the numerator and denominator. Be sure to click the "enter" key after you've entered your final value.
