Instructions:

A very difficult situation to imagine is the time involved in filling and/or emptying a bathtub. This is especially difficult if you are trying to fill the tub, but the drain is open so that water is also running out of the tub. This interactive application helps to illustrate this type of situation. You can simulate filling the tub with the drain closed or open.

Besides changing whether the drain is open or closed, change the rate at which the water fills and drains. Also, take your mouse and click on the drain. You can open and close the drain by clicking it rather than the button next to "drain." Try turning on the water in the same manner. Remember to check out problem 43 on page 378 of your textbook for the original problem.
