Programs with a one-course mathematics requirement for elementary school teachers have a wide variety of topics from which to choose for this course. Two different options for such a course are outlined below. The amount of time spent on each section will vary depending on the use of the one-page math activities in the text and possibly the use of the activity sets from the companion book, Mathematics for Elementary Teachers: An Activity Approach. Option I - Single Course

Programs with a two-course sequence are able to accommodate more topics, and depending on time devoted to the one-page math activities in the text and possibly the use of additional activity sets, such as those from the companion book, Mathematics for Elementary Teachers: An Activity Approach, will use most of the topics in the text.
