34 Investigations

Listed below are 34 investigations, one for each of the 34 sections of Mathematics For Elementary Teachers: A Conceptual Approach, Fifth Edition. These investigations pose questions to generate interest in various mathematical topics from the text and encourage students to formulate and investigate their own conjectures. One use of these investigations is for term papers in which students report on their conjectures and the patterns they find. The Mathematics Investigator software may be downloaded and is designed for conveniently generating large amounts of data for the 14 investigations below which are marked by an asterisk.
