There is a one-page Math Activity preceding each of 34 sections of the text. These Math Activities are optional and may be used for small group instruction, homework, or ideas for designing an elementary school mathematics activity. A Manipulative Kit of colored card stock materials is available for use with the activities and is packaged with each text, if requested by the instructor.

This kit has the following commonly used manipulatives, each with corresponding containers: Pattern Block Pieces, Color Tiles, Attribute Pieces, Red and Black Tiles, Base Five Pieces, Base Ten Pieces, Fraction Bars, Polygons for Tessellations, and Spinners for Simulations.
