To test your knowledge of proportions, go to The Sun and Earth Size Comparison and answer the questions under "Mass" and "Diameter."

You may already know that your weight on the Moon is roughly 1/6 of what it is on Earth. Go to Your Weight on Other Worlds and enter in your weight (in pounds). Use the weights provided to estimate the ratios of planet/Earth weight (like our 1/6 for the Moon/Earth weight ratio) for the other planets in our solar system.

To get a good feel for the visual aspect of ratios, visit Figure and Ratio of Area. After playing with the applet, what conclusion can you draw for the ratios of area with respect to side length?

In section 1-3, you learned about prime factorizations. Visit the Sieve of Eratosthenes. Use this JAVA applet to find all primes from 1 to 220. What is the last number you had to delete before you got the complete list? What is the principal square root of 220? What is the connect between these two things?
