Online Tutorials for PowerPoint

Making effective presentational aids is far easier with software such as PowerPoint. If you have access to the program but have not yet learned how to use it effectively, complete Microsoft’s tutorial for PowerPoint.

A tutorial for using graphics in Word is also available.

Maps

If a map would enhance your speech, check for possibilities at the online map collection of the University of Texas library.

National Geographic’s map machine link is another source of online visual aids.

Statistics in Graphic Form

The Public Agenda, a non-profit research and analysis organization, provides data on a range of issues. Designed to serve journalists and policy makers, the Facts File on each issue offers statistical data in graphic form. The images on this site are copyrighted. You must give credit both orally in your speech and in your bibliography for use of the images.

Clip Art and Other Images

Go to the Webplaces Internet Search Guide and choose the clip art searcher at the top left of the window. It will take you to a page with multiple clip art search possibilities.
