Internet Activity 47
Unintentional Injuries
Choose one type of unintentional injury to investigate; examples include motor vehicle related injuries, fire injuries, falls, drowning, and poisonings. How widespread and serious is this type of injury? What are the leading risk factors, and what steps can individuals take to protect themselves? Find at least three strategies for reducing your risk of this type of injury. Use the sites listed on the links page for Chapter 23 or do a general Internet search; the CDC National Center for Injury Prevention and Control is a good place to start your research.
