(Top) Small random motions may lead to a spiral galaxy. The gas falls smoothly
inward and collects in a disk. Rotation of the disk keeps the gas from all
falling into the galaxy's core. Subsequently the gas in the disk turns into
Pop I stars.
(Bottom) Large random motions may lead to E type galaxies because denser 'blobs'
in the gas 'bounce' off one another and prevent the galaxy from flattening.
Stars form throughout the collapsing volume.
