3C273 (Courtesy NOAO). In the groundbased photo you can see only a smear of
light. The clearer view with the HST shows the galaxy surrounding the active
core. ('PG' stands for Palomar Green survey and '3C' stands for Third Cambridge
Catalog of Radio Sources.)
