4.22 The position of the Sun against the backdrop of stars throughout the year

As the Earth orbits the Sun, our planet's rotation axis keeps a constant tilt. Thus, at one time of year the northern hemisphere is tipped toward the Sun, while 6 months later it is tipped away from the sun. This leads to a difference in the amount of heat each hemisphere receives during the year and thereby causes the seasons.
