Chapter 22: Amines

The important organic reactions of amines (nucleophiles) are with the common electrophiles :

• alkyl halides via nucleophilic substitution
• aldehydes or ketones via nucleophilic addition
• carboxylic acid derivatives, especially acid chlorides or anhydrides, via nucleophilic acyl substitution.
