Standard Conversions

Most of the work that you will encounter in general chemistry involves conversions. Whether we are converting milliliters to liters, grams to moles, or potential energy to kinetic energy, we use the same conventions. In this section, you will step through some obvious conversions, but the examples will gradually increase in difficulty.

I hope that you will agree that five is equal to five. If so, then you should also agree that five divided by five is one. (That is, five goes into five one time.) This equality can be written several different ways.
