
David E. Goldberg got his B.S. degree at the George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and his Ph.D. degree at the Pennsylvania State University, where he specialized in inorganic coordination chemistry. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Xi, Phi Lambda Upsilon, Honorary Chemistry Society, and Phi Eta Pi, Honorary Computer Science Society. He was awarded several prizes for outstanding work as an undergraduate, and graduated with special honors in chemistry.
He is the author of about 35 publications in chemistry and chemical education journals and about 15 books. His books have been translated into Hungarian, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Korean. The National Institute of Health awarded him a Special Fellowship to study abroad. He has taught chemistry and computer science and is published in both fields.
Book for the same audience as that of Fundamentals of Chemistry include the Schaum’s Outline in Beginning Chemistry, 3000 Solved Problems in Chemistry, and Solving Word Problems in Chemistry.
Personally, he is the father of two children. His hobbies include Scottish Country Dancing, duplicate bridge, and crossword puzzles.
