3.7 Projectile Motion Cannon

 

Explanation: This applet illustrates the concept of projectile motion as discussed in chapter 3 section 7.  Moreover, it emphasizes the effect of gravity on the trajectory of a projectile.  Both cannon balls are deflected from a straight line trajectory by the same amount since gravity affects them the same way.  This deflection is given by (1/2 g t2) regardless of the velocity of the projectile.   The concepts are the same as the ones addressed in example 3.12.
