18.2 Electric Resistance and Ohm's Law

Ohm's Law and Using of Meters
Instructions:
Click on the "Start Simulation" button to open the applet window. You can select the maximum voltage and maximum current values tolerated by the meters, the resistance and  the applied voltage. The applet calculates the current flowing through the resistance.

Navigation: You can come back to this window by pressing the "Close Simulation" button on the bottom frame of the utility.

Explanation:
You can use this applet to investigate Ohm's law, the relationship between voltage and current at a constant temperature. This relationship is discussed in section 18.2. Note the positioning of the ammeter and the voltmeter. Meters are discussed in section 19.8. The maximum voltage and current values are what is referred to in the book as the full scale reading.
