22.1 Models of Light: Rays and Waves

Electromagnetic Spectrum
Instructions:
Click on the "Start Simulation" button to open the applet window. Use the drop-down menus to select the units you want to use for wavelength, frequency, and energy. You can enter a value in any of the three boxes; the applet calculates the two corresponding values at the units you have chosen and marks a position on the electromagnetic spectrum with a red bar. The red bar appears when you change a number and press the "Enter" key. Alternatively, when you click anywhere on the spectrum canvas, the applet will place a red bar on the spectrum and calculate the corresponding frequency, wavelength, and energy.

Navigation: You can come back to this window by pressing the "Close Simulation" button on the bottom frame of the utility.
