Chapter 1: Using Multimedia in Presentations

Chapter Summary

The use of multimedia presentations aids, which enhance a speech's message, can be beneficial in the introduction, body, and conclusion of a speech. There are several types of multimedia presentation aids, including both technology and non-technology-based platforms. The various types of technology-based multimedia presentation aids are projectors, video, audio, computers, and presentation software. The different types of non-technology-based multimedia presentation aids include models, objects, graphics, flipcharts, writing boards, and handouts. All types of technology-based and non-technology-based multimedia presentation aids can be equally beneficial, depending on your needs. Multimedia presentation aids are useful for establishing your credibility and trustworthiness as a speaker, as well as for reinforcing the messages and ideas presented in the speech.
