Chapter Resources
Chapter 1 - Basic Concepts

Chapter Overview
Electricity is a form of energy. The study of electricity is concerned primarily with learning how to control electric energy. When properly controlled, electricity can do much of the work required to keep our society going. However, uncontrolled electric energy, such as lightning, can be very destructive. Electric energy is so much a part of our daily lives that we tend to take it for granted. Yet without it our lives would be quite different, and much harder. Electric energy lights our homes and industries, operates our computers, radios, and television sets, and turns the many motors used in clocks, washing machines, clothes dryers, vacuum cleaners, and so forth.
