  1. For the circuit below, determine the value of RL needed for RL to dissipate maximum power. What is the maximum power RL can dissipate? Here is a website that may be useful in solving this problem:

  2. Using a simulation program such as Electronics Workbench®, determine IRL and VRL for:
    1. the value of RL determined in step 1 above
    2. five values of RL less than the value of RL determined in step 1
    3. five values of RL greater than the value of RL determined in step 1
      Use this data to plot a curve of PRL versus RL. Does maximum power occur at the value of RL you determined in step 1?
