General Resources: Real World Careers

In an effort to assist educators, counselors, parents, and students, the U.S. Department of Education has established 16 career clusters. Each cluster represents entry level through professional level occupations within a broad industry category.

Each cluster includes the academic training, technical skills, and professional knowledge necessary for the pursuit of a career within that particular cluster. The 16 career clusters provide an ideal organizational tool for assisting students in the development of future occupational goals. To learn more, visit the Department of Education's Web site for vocational and adult education at http://www.ed.gov/offices/OVAE/clusters/.
