McGraw-Hill Higher Education and eInstruction
Enhance Instruction through Hand Held Technology

Interactive Classroom Solution Promotes Active Learning

New York – May ___, 2003 – McGraw-Hill Higher Education, a leading provider of electronic and print learning solutions, and eInstruction Corporation today announced an exclusive alliance that leverages the leadership position of both companies in higher education. Under the alliance, eInstruction’s Classroom Performance System (CPS) can be aligned with McGraw-Hill Higher Education content to provide instructors immediate electronic feedback on student comprehension in the classroom.

The cornerstone of CPS is a hand held device that enables students to respond electronically to questions or quizzes provided by professors in the classroom. The system allows instructors to view student feedback in real-time, thus allowing them to modify instruction based on individual student or group responses. These student responses can be maintained within the instructor’s grade book, the CPS grade book and/or posted to the CPSOnline web site that supports the course. More than 250,000 CPS response pads have already been successfully deployed in the U.S. education market place.

“We are pleased to align with eInstruction in bringing this exciting technology to the classroom,” said Ed Stanford, president of McGraw-Hill Higher Education. “By aligning our leading content with this award winning classroom response system, instructors now have an instant feedback mechanism that encourages participation from every student and enhances the learning process.”

“McGraw-Hill has a proven track record of bringing quality content to the higher education market through technology solutions that provide substantial instructional value to both students and professors,” said Dr. Darrell Ward, president of eInstruction Corporation. “Now we can provide technology to every student in both large and small classes at very affordable costs while improving the instructional process and improving the flow of performance results to students through our associated CPSOnline website.”
