Chapter
3 has been reorganized to provide a more logical presentation
of cellular components. Changes include:
Many sections including the introduction, modern microscopes, cell structure
and communication, cell wall, cellular components, and parts of other
sections have been completely rewritten.
Six
new figures have been added, including transmission and scanning electron
micrographs of cell structure.
A
new cell “map” figure has been incorporated into the artwork to
guide readers more easily through difficult cellular illustrations.
