WHAT DO YOU THINK?

  1. If you are thinking about becoming a teacher, you probably have several ideas about teaching and what you hope to accomplish. These ideas are known as teacher expectations. What are they? Compare your expectations with those of your classmates. How similar are they?

  2. When you consider the relationship between teaching and learning, are there other characteristics of good teachers that you would mention? Think about a teacher you have had who you really thought was effective. What characteristics made him or her effective for you?

  3. After reading about several issues that have captured the interest of educational psychologists, do you agree with their importance in teaching and learning? Why?
