INSTRUCTOR RESOURCES
Instructors will find numerous ways to use the resources provided in this secured site. The Tools for Teaching section includes:

• Powerpoint Slides-to supplement your lectures
• Instructor's Manual - to make it easier to use your hardcopy
• Message Board -to share your ideas with the author and ask any questions you might have!
• How to Customize -to provide instructions as to how to order a customized version of the text
• In addition to these supplements, the Instructor Resources site also offers websites, listservs, suggested online activities, and other resources. These are also included in the student resources to make it easy for instructors to assign relevant activities. An exciting facet of the instructors' site is McGraw- Hill's PageOut Online, which provides instructors with the means to create Home, Syllabus, Lecture Notes, Bookmarks, Instructor, and Assignment pages.

STUDENT RESOURCES
Students have access to several different curricular accessories in this site. Each chapter includes the following components:

• Listservs-introduces students to their peers in the field around the world.*
• Websites-relevant websites to visit for more information.*
• Suggested online activities-not just "busy work," these suggested activities guide the student in developing a deeper understanding of the issues.*
• Other resources-a list of references to help students who are researching relevant topics.*
• Talking it over/message board-gives students the opportunity to share their views and seek out expert guidance.
• Student study guide-includes an introduction, primary points of the chapter, learning objectives, and an interactive quiz.

It's been a pleasure and an education working with Pam Farris and the good people at McGraw-Hill on both the instructors' manual and this website! Just a few years ago as a graduate assistant at Northern Illinois University, I scarcely knew how to turn on a computer, and here I am now on the World Wide Web...just goes to show you that anything's possible if you put your mind to it! As a veteran educator with over 15 years of experience teaching EMH, TMH, LD, BD, and non-handicapped students whose ages span from preschool to adulthood, I welcome you to the field of teaching and wish you a pleasant journey.
