As we, university students get closer to finishing our educational career; we are confronted with questions to determine who motivated us to continue an education, or who influenced some of us to become educators? For the majority of students a person comes to mind easily, but for others for one reason or another, it is very difficult to come up with a specific person that influenced them in any way. I had the task of reading some peer essays on their most inspirational teachers and then describing qualities of those teachers that have influenced us to become better. These teachers have the ability to make students think for themselves and critically, they taught their classes with excitement, had a sense of humor, gave positive reinforcement, and went to the extent as to open the doors to their homes when the students were in need. As future educators, we can learn from these characteristics for these can only make us better persons as well as better teachers
