I first began to write plays in the 7th grade. I had a love for writing and the theatre. I was shown how to write a script that summer by a summer club I was in. I would sit around with my friends and we would create the lines as we laughed and talked. By the time I got in the 10th grade, it was more than just a hobby for me. I began to audition and win scripts for plays and did some newscasting at my high school, Southridge Sr. High. I was a true Thespian. My drama teacher, Ms. Jacobs, saw my potential and taught me so much. I even spent time backstage learning lighting techniques and I worked the sound system for some good plays that year. Together we co-wrote a play called Jackie's Entertainment. It was hip-hop play about a girl who was a drama queen and loved being in other people's business. We never got to put it into production, but the experience of writing it is one I will never forget. Thankyou Ms. Jacobs!
