Teachers are such an important part of our everytday lives, yet many people today don't give them enough credit. These teachers give us the skills and basics to learn and grow in society and therefore provide us with the base for our future. Seldom do people give due credit to their teachers for their individual success, but now I will give such due credit to my high school English Honors teacher Mr. Pruitt.
Mr. Pruitt was one of the most influential teachers in my life. Along with introducing me to Shakespeare and Greek drama during my senior year, he assisted me in the choice for my continued education, knowing about a limited opportunity and assuring said school that I was the right one to fill the position. Mr. Pruitt also directed me to multiple scholastic and achievement scholarships, assisting me in my struggle to pay for my college education. For this I am forever grateful because now I have a stable financial backing that I would not have now if not for the scholarship opportunities that Mr. Pruitt led me to. Mr. Pruitt became my mentor, helping me with my entrance essay, grading it, leading me to opportunities, and all around helping me to succeed in the future. I am forver indebted to Mr. Pruitt for his assistance and I believe that without his help, I would not be the person I am today.
