When I was in fifth grade my elementary school adopted a program call the Florida Future Educator's of America. In this club we were assigned a lower grade classroom, where once a week we would go to that class and assist the teacher. This when I first realized I wanted to become a teacher. I was assigned to Mrs. Kemmner's second grade class. She was the most wonderful person as both an educator and a person.
I can remember being so excited on my FFEA day. I loved being a mentor to children younger than me, even though there was not too much of a difference in our age. They always thought I was so smart and mature, more importantly I saw how they responded to Mrs. Kemmner. She could capture their attention in a second flat and she knew every student and everything about them. I cannot wait till I earn my degree and have my own class, I know I can really make a difference in my student lives.
