Military Rescue???

A Maryland superintendent is closing a deal with the US Army that would turn the lowest performing high school in a specific county into a public military academy by fall 2002. The army would provide funds for uniforms, books, computers, furniture and half of the teachers salaries. Although there has been a slight increase in the state assessment of
math, a large gap exist between minority and female student stores. The academy students would be required to wear uniforms, take a broad range of academic courses- including several with a military theme and especially courses in mathematics.
