Finding Forrester
Movie Review by:

Finding Forrester is about and inner city kid named Jamal who is struggling to play the roles of both excellent basketball player and outstanding writer. When he meets Pulitzer prize winning writer William Forrester they both learn many lessons in life. William teaches Jamal not to be afraid of his talents and share both with the world. Jamal helps William to free himself from his hurtful past and move on with his life.

Many stereo-types are discussed in this film. This film can serve as a tool to debate Stereo-types in the classroom. The children will see how Jamal was an over comer and rose about all the negativity surrounding him. They will also learn how people such as Dr. Crawford discovered that stereotypes are not always true.

This is an excellent movie that is sure to create interesting debates in your classroom.
