	About Robert Feldman

Robert S. Feldman is Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Psychology at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he is recipient of the College Outstanding Teacher Award. As Director of Undergraduate Studies, he initiated the Minority Mentoring Program, and he teaches the first-year experience course and Talent Advancement Program for new students.

Professor Feldman won a Fulbright Senior Research Scholar and Lecturer award and has written some 100 scientific articles, book chapters, and books. Professor Feldman's research interests encompass the development of nonverbal behavior in children and the social psychology of education, and his research has been supported by grants from the National Institute of Mental Health and the National Institute on Disabilities and Rehabilitation Research. He has always been fascinated by how people learn, stay motivated, and succeed in school and in life.

Professor Feldman's spare time is most often devoted to serious cooking and earnest, but unpolished, piano playing. He, his wife, and their three children live in a home overlooking the Holyoke mountain range in Amherst, Massachusetts.
