Terrorism
- Questions for Study and Writing
1. Many have speculated about what causes terrorism. What do you think? Is terrorism as a whole something that has a cause, or does each individual act of terrorism have its own particular cause? 2. Some writers (like Huntington) believe cultural differences have led to conflict between Islam and the West, while others (like Ajami) have argued that their relationship has suffered mostly from economic inequalities. Which argument do you find most convincing, and why? Refer to at least two of the articles listed above in making your own argument. (Be sure to read and make use of at least one that does not support your position, and refute it.) |
