Cahier d’exercices oraux et écrits
This combined workbook and laboratory manual is coordinated with the thematic and grammatical content of the grammar textbook. The exercices écrits provide practice in vocabulary, grammar, syntax, and guided writing. Most exercises are self-correcting; sketches, realia, and personalized questions enliven the activities. The new edition has been revised to match the revised grammar sequence, and this section includes all-new guided writing activities (Pour écrire en français).
The laboratory (oral) section of the Cahier d’exercices oraux et écrits promotes the development of speaking and listening comprehension skills, using a variety of exercises and activities. These include focused, single-answer grammar and vocabulary review (coordinated with the presentation in Révision de grammaire), pronunciation practice, poetry selections, and dialogue-based activities. New to each chapter are recorded A l’écoute dramatizations, based on practical, “slice-of-life” settings. These are preceded by listening strategies and pre-listening tasks.
Audio Program
Available on either audiocassettes or audio CDs, the Collage audio program to accompany the Cahier d’exercices oraux et écrits is free to adopting institutions. An audioscript for the use of instructors accompanies each set of the audio program. Individual copies of the audio program may be ordered for purchase by students through university and college bookstores.
