The following components of Deutsch: Na klar! Third Edition are designed to complement your instruction and to enhance your students' learning experience. Available to students and instructors:
- The Student Text includes a grammar appendix and German-English/ English-German end vocabularies.
- The Workbook, by Jeanine Briggs, now includes additional form-focused vocabulary and grammar exercises as well as abundant guided writing practice.
- The Listening Comprehension Program contains material tied to the listening activities in the main text. The audiotapes or CDs, provided free to instructors for in-class use, are packaged along with the student edition.
- The Laboratory Manual, by Lida Daves-Schneider and Michael Büsges (The Catholic University of America), contains engaging listening comprehension activities and pronunciation practice. Available on audiocassettes and audio CD, the Audio Program includes Tapescript for instructors.
- The McGraw-Hill Electronic Language Tutor (MHELT 2.1), available for Macintosh and IBM compatibles, contains single-response exercises from the main text.
- The new dual-platform (for Macintosh and all IBM compatibles) CD-ROM to accompany Deutsch: Na klar! contains additional form-focused vocabulary and grammar practice, along with other features designed to make learning German with Deutsch: Na klar! easier and more engaging.
- The new Web site to accompany Deutsch: Na klar!, located at http://www.mhhe.com/ german, contains multiple links to culturally informative Web sites in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland as well as accompanying Web-based activities.
- A Practical Guide to Language Learning: A Fifteen-Week Program of Strategies for Success, by H. Douglas Brown (San Francisco State University), is a brief introduction to the language-learning process for beginning language students. It is available for student purchase.
Available to instructors only:
- The Annotated Instructor's Edition of the main text includes marginal notes, answers, and a tapescript to the in-text listening comprehension activities.
- The combined Instructor's Manual and Testing Program provides theoretical background, practical guidance, and ideas for using Deutsch: Na klar!. It also contains tests and exams written by Jennifer Redmann (Ripon College) and Pennylyn Dykstra-Pruim (Michigan State University).
- The Tapescript contains the material found on the Audio Program.
- The revised Video to accompany Deutsch: Na klar! contains 30 minutes of award-winning commercials and non-commercial footage. Additional video activities can be found in the Instructor's Manual.
- The McGraw-Hill Video Library of Authentic Materials: A German TV Journal includes authentic segments from German television (ZDF) and a User's Guide. Topics relate directly to the main themes in the text. The User's Guide contains a variety of activities that can be duplicated for students.
- Color Slides include a manual of commentary and questions.
- A Training/Orientation Manual by James F. Lee (Indiana University) offers practical advice for beginning language instructors and coordinators.
