  6. Contrast the contemporary psychodynamic therapies and the traditional Freudian approach.
  7. Contrast the therapeutic approaches taken by person-centered therapy and Gestalt therapy.
  8. Describe the characteristic shared by behavior therapies.
  9. Contrast classical conditioning and operant conditioning approaches to therapy, and describe cognitive behavioral therapy.
  10. Distinguish between rational-emotive therapy and Beck's cognitive therapy.
  11. Identify the following group therapy approaches: family and couple therapy, personal growth groups, and self-help groups.
  12. Discuss the community psychology movement.
  13. Describe the results of research on the effectiveness of psychotherapy.
  14. Discuss the concerns about factors such as gender, ethnicity, and social class in psychotherapy.
  15. Describe the following biomedical therapies: drug therapy, electroconvulsive therapy, and psychotherapy.
