  4. Contrast assimilation and pluralism.
  5. Describe the use of superordinate goals, the jigsaw classroom, and intimate contact in improving interethnic relations.
  6. Define the term gender.
  7. Explain the biological and social influences on the development of gender identity.
  8. Distinguish between cognitive developmental theory and gender schema theory.
  9. Discuss the results of research regarding gender similarities and differences.
  10. Describe traditional gender roles and gender stereotypes, and discuss the consequences of sexism.
  11. Identify both androgyny and gender-role transcendence.
  12. Define religion and identify the following components: beliefs, practices, feeling, knowledge, and outcomes.
  13. Distinguish between intrinsic and extrinsic religious orientation, and identify the stages in developing religious commitment.
  14. Describe the following varieties of religious experience: mystical experience and spiritual well-being.
