Gardner, H. (1993). Creating minds. New York: Basic Books. A wonderful book by one of the leading researchers in the areas of intelligence and creativity.

Levine, M. (1988). Effective problem-solving. Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice-Hall. Excellent “how to” book that gives advice on solving prob-lems more effectively, including interpersonal problems.

Lieberman, P. (1991). Uniquely human: The evolution of speech, thought, and selfless behavior. Cambridge, MA: Harvard University Press. A highly regarded language and speech researcher not only discusses basic elements of language but offers an intriguing account of the role of language in human culture.

Medin, D. L., & Ross, M. W. (1992). Cognitive psychology. Ft. Worth: Harcourt Brace.

Solso, R. L. (1996). Cognitive psychology (4th ed.). Boston: Allyn & Bacon. Two excellent texts in cognitive psychology, both of which cover a broad range of topics.
