Answer these questions based on your own life. Do you think that your answer
is typical of answers that other students in this country might give?
- Are you a full-time or part-time student?
- How old were you when you started your university studies?
- Is your campus large or small? Is it urban or set apart from the city?
- Do most students on your campus live in a dorm? Off-campus?
- When will you select your major? If you’ve already selected one, what is
it?
Here is how a Hispanic-American student answered the same questions.

Universidad: University of California, Berkeley
I am a full-time student at UC Berkeley. I began my university studies at the
age of 17 and am majoring in anthropology. The campus is in an urban setting
and is very large; it hosts about 25,000 students every year. Most students
live on-campus only during their first year and then move off-campus.
