Organizational Communication


"One of the most wide-sweeping changes in organizational communication is the increase in teamwork. For example, in 1991 Boeing announced that its new Boeing 777 jetliner was going to be built by teams. The company set up more than 200 'design-build teams. These teams were comprised of employees from engineering, quality control, finance, and manufacturing. Each one concentrates on a specific part of the aircraft. Even suppliers and potential customers are sometimes included in team meetings' (Wall, 1992, p. 110).
