I received my Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska in 1999.   My research and teaching interests in communication primarily relate to instructional communication and communication education.  Most recently, my research has experimentally tested the effects different lecturing techniques have on student motivation, notetaking, and cognitive achievement.  Related to my interest in instructional communication is a strong interest in using instructional technology, like the WWW, to make learning fun and efficient.  Because interviewing raises so many interesting topics for discussion, there are few other classes where a web page like this one is more appropriate.  My goal in constructing this site was to provide resources for both teachers and students as they learn about this fascinating topic.   I am committed to constant improvement of this website, so please feel free to provide me with suggestions for improving its functionality and usefulness.
