Your teacher may assign you to answer one or more of these questions.  If they are not assigned, you can use the questions to check your understanding of the material.   Information for answering the questions can be found in Chapter 8.

  1. What are EEO laws and what are some steps that can be taken to ensure compliance?
  2. What are BFOQ's?
  3. How do you know whether to follow state or federal EEO laws?
  4. What are the differences between competency-based and behavior-based applicant profiles?
  5. What are the differences between unstructured interviews, moderately structured interviews, and highly structured interviews?  Are some of these formats better than others?
  6. Why do you think interviewers should avoid bipolar questions?
  7. What are "on-the-job" questions and how can they be used most effectively in an interview?
  8. What are some strategies you can use to give information in an interview?
  9. What technique(s) would you use to record your evaluations of applicants?  Would this change depending on whether the applicant pool was large (100 or more) or small (5 or less)?
