by Charles J. Stewart and William B. Cash

Journalistic Interviews

The journalistic interview is a specific type of informative interview where the interviewer solicits and conducts interviews with one or more "sources" to gather supporting material for a news story.  Journalistic interviews are conducted for nearly all forms of mediated news reporting including newspapers, magazines, television, and radio.  This activity accompanies Chapter 5 of your textbook.
