Objective 3 Construct time-series plots Time-Series Plots A time-series plot may be used when the data consist of values of a variable measured at different points in time. As an example, we consider the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which reflects the prices of 30 large stocks. Table 2.19 presents the closing value of the Dow Jones Industrial Average at the end of each year from 2000 to 2009.
